Amanatto (Japanese marron or bean glacé)

I bought these Japanese sweets when I was back in Japan. Amanatto is one of popular traditional Japanese sweets which resembles Marron glacé or fruits confits. They are either beans or chestnuts rather than fruits. Japanese sweets often reflect the season of the moment and chestnuts are typical Autumn sweet ingredients.

This looks really sweet. Can it be ordered online and if so could you provide the web address?

I don't know where you can order online but if you have a Japanese supermarket somewhere close to you, they will most likely carry them. Also check out "Minamoto kichoan" site. Maybe they have Amanatto. http://www.kitchoan.com/
They have stores in NJ, NY....I don't know if you are familier with Mitsuwa Supermarket? There is a Minamoto Kichoan store in NJ location.
